assuming this is real, *this* is the console designed by Sega of
America, SegaSoft and 3Dfx that LOST to the Dural/Katana/Dreamcast,
circa 1997.

found it here
http://www.assemblergames.com/phpb [...] .php?t=170

Keep in mind, the Dural, Katana and Dreamcast are all one and the
same. they are all the same console. The 3Dfx based BlackBelt was the
*other* console, the one that lost to Dural when Sega demoed both
prototypes internally in mid 1997. Sega selected the Dural which was
renamed Katana, and finally Dreamcast in 1998.

BlackBelt was said to be using a 3Dfx Banshee variant, perhaps
Banshee2 (Voodoo3).

Man, it looks kinda cool....certainly a lot bigger than the DC. Kinda
looks like the JVC X'eye...

Man, when I saw Saturn, I thought at first it would run Mega Drive games as
well. I was really dissapointed :(

I still remember the rumors of it playing 32X games as the slot was just
perfect for them....wished it would have been true...

If memory serves me correctly, the reason that the Power Base convertor
made it to market was because retailers had crates and crates of unsold
Master System games still lying around when the Genesis hit the market. If
there were the same back stock of 32x games, then the Saturn might have
had that capability built in.

It's a misconception that backward compatibility exists for the sake of
the consumer. If somebody can still make money selling the older software,
then they will. Not to be a killjoy about it or anything. :)

Ugh....just get the Saturn version of Capcom Generations 5, or hell the Genesis
version of SSF2...the 3DO version has to be *way* more effort than it's
worth...;)
