This is my second build.
Got everything together 2 days ago and just left it running without an OS.
Fans worked video card worked (was looking at bios screen).
Went to work and noticed the computer was off when I came home.We had NO power surges that we know of.
When I try to start it up, it will run for 1 or 2 seconds.
Luckily I had another power supply but it computer acts the same way.
I removed the battery for 30seconds but it made no difference.
Sooooo what do you guys think?
Thanks,
Jimbo

Solution
Pretty much the only thing that comes to mind is that the CPU fried, the HSF wasn't properly installed or something and it overheated.
But i'm sure it can be multiple other things as well.

Thanks for the reply.
I guess I should a told ya that while the computer was on for 2 days I had it hooked to a monitor with the bios screen and the temperature of the cpu was at 40C almost all the time.Which tells me the HSF was working.
Since this happened I have unplugged the hard drive and DVD burners and video card. But I still get same result. Cpu fan and PS fans spin for a second. I also disconnected the tower fans.
Does a cpu just go out like that? Or could it be the motherboard?
Thanks Jimbo

Update,
I sent the motherboard and CPU back to Newegg and in a week's time I received a new set!!
Wish I knew which one it was but everything is good now.
Thank you all
