Hello, my name Ian and I've got an issue thats driving me nuts. I've purchased an ATI radeon HD4670 (trying to get back into pc gaming and now im starting to remember why I stopped, lol.) Amyways, im currently trying to play dragon age origins I can play all day long inside dungeons and castle areas. but it seems like whenever I get to an outside environment the monitor will cut off and give me a disconnect post on the screen as if it has suddenly lost its signal. The pc is still running and you can hear the game still but there is no video. abd I have to restart to get it back.

What Im currently running.

Intel Pentium D 3ghz running on an Intel 945gcz board (all drivers updated and Bios flashed)
2gb of ddr2 Patriot pc6400 800mhz RAM (running at max supported 667mhz) - brand new just bought 3 days ago.
500gb hdd (not sure the brand) SATA running in RAID mode
500watt dynex psu - thought it might be a power issue so I picked up a thermaltake 500watt. Didnt work, took it back.
ATI Radeon HD4670 1gb DDR2. No onboard power connector. PCI-E - about a month old.
Onboard audio
Windows XP Media Center Ed. SP3
Soyo 19 inch lcd using a dvi-d cable to mate with the vid card. tried an envision 22 inch to no avail. tried a vga cable. no good.

Ran Furmark burn in test at 1440x900 for about 10 min. gpu hit 77c. never cut out.
ran speed fan to monitor cpu - hit 56c on the cpu (runs at 50c idle) - internal temp reads 29c (case is completely open until I resolve this) - remote temp 44c and hd0 at 42c.

I ran Dragon age in a window at 1440x900 while monitoring temps until it cut. I run the game in fullscreen at 1440x900 Graphichs on high, textures at med x2 aa and frame buffer effects enabled. 25-30 fps on average (good enough for an rpg)

I've taken the card out and reseated it, blown everything out, disconnected other devices to reduce power, emptied the other pci slots and ran the card alone. Nothing.

The problem seems completely random. Fallout new vegas did it once and thats it. Both the Dragon age II demo and Mass effect 2 demo never did it and I've ran through both of them at least 5 times. I pulled a 6 hour New Vegas marathon and never had it happen. I just purchased dragon age and its very upsetting to have this happen every time i try to go anywhere.

Help? thx

Ian

Have you tried reinstalling the Dragon Age game? Otherwise AMD released Catalyst 11.7 it might help.
