G850 and Phenom II x2 555BE are similarly priced in my location.

which to opt for playing games?

Can i believe G850 is more powerfull than AMD 555BE <as mentioned here>?

I dont prefer OC as that will add to my budget to go above the stock.

at stock, the g850 is better and you can upgrade to a core i5/i7 or ivy bridge later.
amd 555 be is overclockable (if you oc, add the price of a cooler)... still it's only good if you use it with 990x/990fx chipset mobo with x16+x16 cfx/sli And If you're 100% certain that next amd cpu will never bottleneck the gfx cards.
for non oc + gaming, the pentium g850 is better and more power efficient than phenom.

At stock yes, but the PHII 555 BE can be unlock to a quad or triple core (Though this is not guaranteed, sadly mines didn't unlock to either, though many other peoples have) and if not you can OC it like mad, 4.2Ghz isn't really hard to read with this chip. Not sure how this translates to real-world performer though.
