I ordered a reference 6950 last night and Im afraid that the temps will get too hot. I might just sell it and get a non reference .. I bought it to flash it (it's a reference Sapphire) But I have been hearing about the flash causing permanant damage so i don't know if I wanna do it anymore. I also have 3 monitors so will it get high temps? Also I don't wanna add a gpu cooler because I don't wanna void the warranty. So my question is will it get too hot with 3 monitors? @ stock speeds and stock cooler

Yes more monitors will raise your temperatures, its a bit more work for the GPU to do. Your idle temp will be higher since the memory clock cannot downclock when running more than one monitor otherwise you will see the screens blink when it changes.

Just because your temps will be slightly higher does NOT mean that they will be in the bad range, you will probably run about 70-80C at load which still leaves a 20-30C safety range from the max temperature. Most GPUs dont run anywhere near their max temp when at full load because the coolers on them were built to handle some OCing.

Ok thanks! So do you think it will still last a couple years and be in good shape?

Should last more than a couple years, most graphics cards are long outdated before they die.
