I am looking at a new build and seeking advice concerning the best ram. Build I am considering-Corsair cc600 case/Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD7 AM3+ AMD 990FX mobo/ Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 1866 MHZ/ amd FX8350 8core cpu/ Corsair H80 cpu cooler/ seasonic X860 psu/ ASUS PCI-Express x1 Sound Card XONAR ESSENCE STX/90 soundcard/ SAMSUNG 830 Series 2.5-Inch 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive/ WD caviar blk 1 tb/ msi HD7850 2GDDr5 Hawk video card. Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 1866 MHZ work well? open to suggestions. glidingmoose. Thanks in advance! :whistle: PS: 1st build....

  2. Well, what's your price limit? How many Gigs you want?
  3. IMO, this is a better deal... not as fast in MHz, but it's low latency and anything over 1866mhz isn't nessicary. Even for AMD boards. It also allows for an upgrade path to 32Gb.

    Was thinking 16gigs, don't see why I would need more than 8 but want a little overkill just in case I need it later on. As for the money, I don't want to go much over 1500 bucks. Thanks for taking the time to respond. It's appreciated. :)

  6. You're welcome! Hope you find what you're looking for! I've actually seen benchmarks that show CAS 9 RAM does pretty close to CAS 8 Ram... so, GSkill ripjaws might be a good cheap route for you. but CAS 8 Latency is far better for AMD systems!
