Depends on what you mean by 'best' and I probably wouldn't spend $220 on an AM3+ MOBO.

$135 Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
$165 Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD7 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

The 'best' is the ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z with SupremeFX III vs non-Z's older SupremeFX X-Fi 2 onboard sound.

$207 (sale 10% off) ASUS Crosshair V Formula - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

The Gigabyte boards are all good, from the Gigabyte GA-990XA-UD3 and up.

Note that the "990X" part denotes the chipset of the board. The "970" is the lowest 900-series chipset, the "990X" is the intermediate AMD chipset in the 900-series, and provides for one x16 PCI-E 2.0 slot, or two PCI-E 2.0 slots running at x8 speed, and the 990FX is the top end chipset, but Gigabyte and other manufacturers produce multiple boards using each one of these chipsets, and the differences boil down to features and level of cooling for the various chips on the board - ie. VRMs, northbridge, southbridge).

The Asus M5A97 Rev. 2.0 is probably the best cheap AM3+ motherboard right now, and the M5A99X EVO Rev 2.0 and M5A99FX Pro Rev. 2.0 are very good boards, too, if you don't want to step up to the Asus Sabretooth or Crosshair V.

OMG That helped e so much. I have a custom PC Builder here and you've helped me choose my MOBO. I really appreciate it.
