Good Day, I have an MSI 990FXA-GD80 with Aerocool Xpredator X1 White Edition.

My problem is that the motherboard is short (standoffs are short) such that the lower 6gb/s sata ports can't be used because the case has a bulge area between the motherboard area and the pre-drilled holes.

So my question is, will any kind of standoff work? I'm planning to buy a taller one.. What kind of standoff will work and won't cause and damage whatsoever.

Thanks,

Any longer standoffs would do. I would use a nut between case and standoff.

It will raise the board with the nut's height. I was wrong in the previous post. Not between case and standoff, but standoff and board. Or look for longer standoffs. An example: http://www.rtd.com/Accessories/standoff.htm
