Which cpu is better

intel core 2 duo 3.10ghz or amd athlon 64 x2 dual core processor 6000+ 3.02ghz

i have these but i could tell the difference but i think the amd is better as the mother board is more meant for gaming

The Core 2 Duo will be better. Clock for clock the Core 2 Duo was better than the older athlon X2.

Also that Athlon is a old chip now. Really not worth considering for gaming unless you have been offered it really cheap.
