Motherboard POST issue: Asus p8z77-v

Hey everyone,

I've recently built a new system (I'll put the specs at the bottom the post), its been up and running for a couple of days now and as far as I can see there are no issues; windows is running fine, all my hardware is being recognised and running as it should and temps are great too.

However my only issue is that the motherboard isn't POSTing and the boot device LED is briefly lighting up red on every startup. Quite often, the CPU, VGA and DRAM LEDs are also lighting up briefly in the same way.

It occured to me that this may just be a procedure the mobo goes through on startup to check all the LEDs but couldn't find and proof for that. Could that be the case? From what I've understood if there is some kind of hardware problem these LEDs will light up permanantly until the problem is resolved...

Any advice or answers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :)

Yes, it's the normal test of the installed components.
