System wont POST

I have built a system for the first time however is wont POST. i turn it on and all leds light up and the system fans spin however it then turns off after a few seconds and then it will stay off for maybe 5 seconds and it will then turn on again and keep repeating this process.

The phase LEDs show 01- green 02- green 03-orange 04-red

i have 'breadboarded' the system however i still couldn't eliminate if there were any problem components or weather i am just missing something very obvious. I have also tested this system with a different power supply and it still does the same thing.

The system consists of -


Gigabyte motherboard - ga-z68x-ud3h-b3
Intel i5 2500k
corsair vengeance 8GB RAM
Nvidia Geforce GTX560
Corsair TX750M power supply
Seagate 1TB hard drive



Any help would be appreciated.

It might be a short related issue. Try testing the board outside of the case, on a cardboard or similar, using one RAM stick, GPU, keyboard and mouse.

RAM! Consult the motherboard manual and make sure the RAM is installed into the correct slots. Motherboards do not always arrange the RAM in the same physical manner.
