Hello,

I have a 1GB DDR5 Radeon HD 6850 graphics card. Could I play Call of Duty: 2 from Steam, even though it says that the chip set isn't supported?

Solution
Can you post Steam's version of system requirements?

Google found me this set:

"Medal of Honor Airborne Minimum System Requirements
Operating System: Windows XP or Windows Vista (32-bit)
Processor: 2.8 GHz or faster (3.0 GHz or faster for Windows Vista)
RAM: 1 GB or more
Disc Drive: 8x or faster DVD-ROM drive
Hard Drive: 9.0 GB or more free space
Video: DirectX 9.0c-compatible video card with 128 MB or more memory, Pixel Shader 3.0 support, and one of these chipsets is required:
- ATI Radeon X1300 Pro or greater
- NVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT or greater
Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c-compatible sound card
Input: Keyboard and mouse
Multiplayer: 2-12 players, requires one disc per PC and a Cable, DSL, or faster connection.

Based on this an HD6850 should have no problem running this game. It is certainly far stronger than an "ATI Radeon X1300 Pro" so it fits in the "or greater" bucket. But steam could have done something or this set of minimums could be wrong. So please post what steam says is the minimum.

Oh, wow haha. I'm sorry, I seem to have gotten my wires crossed;

I meant to say that Steam said that Call of Duty: 2 won't support the 6850, but I know that it is better then the GTX 560Ti, here are the "Supported Chipsets"

Supported Chipsets

ATI Radeon 8500
ATI Radeon 9000
ATI Radeon 9200
ATI Radeon 9500
ATI Radeon 9600
ATI Radeon 9700
ATI Radeon 9800
ATI Radeon X300
ATI Radeon X550
ATI Radeon X600
ATI Radeon X700
ATI Radeon X800
ATI Radeon X850
nVidia GeForce 2 Ultra
All nVidia GeForce 3/Ti Series
All nVidia GeForce 4/Ti Series
All nVidia GeForce FX Series
All nVidia GeForce 6 Series
Recommend nVidia GeForce 7 Series or higher

Supported chipset lists only include graphics cards that are available at the time the game is released. GPUs newer than the game will obviously not be on the list but will almost certainly run the game just fine.
