Strange noice

Every so often I hear what sounds like a click followed bye a whirring sound * I would describe this sound as a fan getting up a very high speed then quickly slowing down. I have been watching all my system monitors and when it happens nothing seems to go wrong no cpu heat up or over use nothing wrong with hard drives and fan speeds stay pretty close to regular and the Vid stays about the same and I see no hiccups when looking at the system.

Im not to worried but just wondering if any one knows what it might be.

What kind of hard drives do you have in your system? Could be Green drives spinning up and shutting down as you access them.

Thats what i thought okay thanks so much JSC I have 2 green drives. When I heard the noise and didnt notice any problems I assumed it must have been some activation and the HDD only thing that made sense.
