Hey what's a good z77 motherboard out there for gaming computers? I'm seeing many types so I'm confused which one is better.

motherboard decision is what you plan on having in the build. for instance, there's no point in looking for built in wifi if you use a Ethernet cable etc.

Have you already bought those parts? I'd cut down the RAM to 8 GB and the processor to a Core i5-3570k if you can. Makes no difference for a gaming computer, and leaves more money for the motherboard (and potentially a better graphics card).

I would add the Asrock Z77 Extreme4 to the list above.

I vote for the ASRock Extreme 4 as its a great performer and overclocker for a great price. I use the M version and like them a lot.

Ok well I'm not just using it for gaming but also for editing movies, and using other editing programs, such as after effects, photoshops and sony vegas etc.

Ah okay, then the extra RAM and Core i7 makes sense.

the Extreme4 is a good board, also look at the Extreme6 its only a little bit more and from what i have read has considerably higher quality components on the board, like capacitors.
