Tungsten C and WiFi Connections

I've had my T/C for many years and have not put it use. I just bought the new evo and want to respond to email with the T/C and a folding keyboard instead of the touch pad on the Evo. I can pick up signals from my home wireless but am unable to connect. Can someone help me with the proper setting to make this happen?

When you try to connect, are you prompted to input a security key?

I have entered the security key and no luck. I am showing good signal on the bar graph next to the wireless network that I am picking up ( actually two of them ) however when I push the signal button no signal registers. Now what?
