Crysis Warhead maxed out with V-SYNC off causes screen tearing even though I'm running it on a 120HZ monitor...I thought the way screan tearing worked was the monitor couldn't keep up with the framerate or did I misread it?
a c 216 U Graphics card
a c 129 C Monitor

That is a common misconception. The truth is, tearing occurs as a result of the graphics card updating the frame buffer at the same time it's being written to the monitor. Without v-sync on, there is nothing to stop it from being out of sync. The graphics card just writes to the frame buffer at anytime it can, which can be at the same time the monitor is updating the screen with the frame buffer.
