hi to all. I khow that 2500 is more powerful than 2400. but some1 can explain me in depth what is multiplier and if the two processors have the same multiplier??
And which one process the best?? normanly 2500. But if some1 has experienced the two processors in gaming and have noticed a difference , i will be grateful to be aware about it! thx advance to all who read and reply.

Very little difference between the 2400 & the 2500 (3.1/3.4ghz to 3.3/3.7ghz) UNLESS you get the 2500k. Then you have the option for some good overclocking, giving it a good performance boost over the 2400 & non-k 2500.

2400 and 2500 overclocking limit is the same ? and what is the overclocking frequency limit of 2400 and 2500 ?

You cannot OC a non K series Sandybridge. You can use turbo boost, but that is limited to 300-400 MHz.

The 2500K has been sucessfully clocked at 5 GHz, and I have clocked mine at 4.8 GHz. The difference between the non K 2400 and 2500 is 200 MHz.

+1 Chesteracorgi,

The Intel® Core™ i5-2400 and i5-2500 they are not designed to be overclocked and they give very poor results from the attempt. The Intel Core i5-2500K is designed to allow you to overclock the processor and gives great results from the attempt. So if you are a business and looking for a long term stable processor that will give great results the Intel Core i5-2400 and Intel Core i5-2500 are great processors for you. If you are looking for the best performance overall and willing to take a small risk the Intel Core i5-2500K and its ability to be overclock is one of the best values for gaming today.

The core i5 2400 and 2500 are the same CPU, expect the 2500 is clocked .2Ghz (200Mhz) faster. The 2500k is a very nice chip if you plan to OC though. The non-K series CPUs cannot OC, as the multiplier is locked. You also asked what multiplier was. There is a base clock BCLK or FSB which is multiplied by the multiplier. So if you have a BCLK set to 100Mhz, and the multiplier set to 33, you get 3300Mhz. (pretty simple to remember, huh? :) ) If you want to save the money and you are just surfing the web, the 2400 is better, but if you plan to game, the 2500 is better. If you want to OC, the 2500k is best because you can adjust the multiplier.

Hope this helped! :)
