2grand build help

I know there are a few other threads like this but I think what I am looking for is a little different. Mainly, I really don't like multimonitor setups at all. I currently have a somewhat aging 2560x1600 monitor that I plan on replacing later this year with 3 1080p miniteurs. I would like to go ahead and build my gaming rig now and just use it with my old monitor until I get the new one.

So what are your suggestions for a $2000 build that would get the best possible performance in games on a single 30 inch 2560 x 1600 monitor? I only care about gaming performance since I use my work laptop for any other applications.

I already have a monitor, mouse, keyboard, so no need to include those.

Thanks for any help and wisdom.

Edit: Here is the breakdown:

If you can wait till the end of November, they should be releasing the LGA 2011 and the Sandy Bridge-E. I highly suggest it, since your build is around 2g and you are waiting till November.
