Cable doesn't fit LAN port

I recently built a new computer, which I am trying to connect my RJ45 (I think) connector to the LAN port on the I/O shield so I can access internet. However, the LAN port does not seem to fit the cable. Here is what it looks like:
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

That tab that's bent inside the port. Remove it.
