Do I need a BIOS update for a Phenom II X6 1090T BE in a AM2+ Mobo?

Hi again :)

Would anyone be able to tell me whether this processor will run ok in my AM2+ mobo or will it require a BIOS update?

The chip I might be getting (second hand): Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition

The board I have is a: ASUS 'Crosshair' nForce 590SLI (AM2+)

Thanks.

  1. Apologies, maybe this should have gone in the Motherboard section? I wasn't sure tbh given it's a compatability issue regarding 2 seperate pieces of hardware.
  2. It isn't on the list of supported CPUs: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM2/CROSSHAIR/#CPUS

Ah, brilliant thanks for the link; I never even realised they showed that kind of info other than 'AM2 / AM2+ compatible' :??:

Based upon that I'll stick with looking for a Phenom Quad Core instead ;)
