got a question about fans. i just got my cooler master sf19 laptop cooler which has 2 140mm standard case fans in it so i figured id post this here.

does running any type of case fan full speed have any affect on the life span compared to medium or low?? these fans are 1,200-2,600 rpm with a 25,000 hour lifespan.

fan life has everything to do with wear on the bearings. In general the more you spin it the more wear you will put on the bearings. So, in theory spinning them slower they will last longer than the 25k hours specified, however that isn't guaranteed. If you are concerned about fan life switch from sleeve bearing to ball bearing. Ball bearings are significantly better in terms of expected life, but are louder.
