PCI card bracket too high

Hello,
I'm trying to install a SCSI adapter card (PCI) into a mini-tower case. The bracket is for a full size case, so it is too long. Is there any reason why I can't just cut off or remove the bracket. The seating force of the card in its slot should be enough to hold it, right?

Just unscrew the bracket and put it in, also you might want to look for a low profile adapter for that card.
