Programs frequently not responding

Hi,

First of all forgive me if this is the wrong category.

I am having big trouble with different programs "freezing" up for about 10-20 sec very often. I have looked to see if it was my RAM causing this, but that doesnt seem to be the case as they are pretty stable and not working max.

Since I am very much a noob I hope to find some help here!

I tried entering my bios and resetting it to default, but that didnt help on the problem.

Please let me know if I should provide you guys with additional info, and please let me know if there is a solution to this problem as it is driving my mad!
