Hello, I am planning to get custom pc and want a REALLY good mother board.

But I cant pick between two motherboards. The Asus Maximus iv Extreme and Asus Maximus iv Extreme Z.

If you know better one, please tell it and it MUST be from ASUS. I have bad experiences with GAGABITE.

THANK YOU :pt1cable:

Does the motherboard have to feature the Z68 chipset? Any reason not the Maximus V series with a Z77 chipset?
Here is ASUS's current top-of-the-line Socket 1155 mobo, the ASUS Maximus V EXTREME LGA

It is an Extended ATX board so only full tower cases will fit it - and not all of those
Another manufacturer you might consider is ASRock which (the story goes) formed out of ASUS - they tend to have boards as feature rich for a bit less

does is have to be an ROG board? you will be paying for a lot of features you will never use or never even know about. how many graphics cards will you be running? almost no one actually needs an ultra high end board like those

Yes, I will be overclocking a ton and will probably have two graphics card. Also I am aware with all the features, I do a lot of reaserch before bying. Also I make sure know how to use ALL the features before I buy anything. I will be using CAD, and run servers. If you know another one please tell me. I you want, you can tell another motherboard other than ROG's.

this is pretty good, runs 2 pci-e lanes at x16 and 2 at x8 so you can get more out of your graphics cards, dual lan one intel and one killer and has a ton of features. its a really good bank for the buck

dont have any gripe with ROG, most people i see on here that want to go and buy a $400 mother board are doing it more for prestige rather than practicality
