Hi,

Do anyone know the reason why Radeon 6970 is not available easily (in UK). ebuyer.com, aria.co.uk and amazon.co.uk (sold by amazon) don't have 6970 ? I can find some in eBay or in Amazon.co.uk but from some other sellers and they are charging more than normal.

I already have one Asus 6970 and planning to buy one soon for crossfire (as only 6990 and 6970 can be crossfired together according to AMD compatibility chart) _but_ confused due to unavailabilty of these (including HD 6990); are they failed in market or what ?

Thanks

This is why I don't support the 'Buy one now and get another later.' ethos.

Ya, but can you think of any reason for this ? Its fairly new card-model and not years old obsolete :(

Edit: Buying two of them together was out of budget and I wasn't expecting this before.

They are a popular card for bitcoin miners, who build systems with multiple ATi graphics cards for this purpose. Here's some info: http://bitminer.info/

They aren't done with the 69xx cards, they just had a lot of demand and a hiccup in the availability.

We’re pleased to see that demand for our 6900 series products remain very strong. The shortfall of some of these parts you’ve seen is only temporary – more supply is going into the channel in the next 2-3 weeks, and you will start seeing products more readily available imminently.
