I know that XP uses MY PICTURES as an area to retreive backgrounds, but when I go to select a wallpaper, none of the files from MY PICTURES are on the list. I keep most of my JPG files in a diff folder, but send some to MY PICTURES folder so I can view them as a wallpaper. What am I doing wrong. thanks

Barbara,
The easiest way to change background is to open your picture in IE
and RIGHT click right ON the picture and select "SET AS BACKGROUND"
from the menu..

Is Active Desktop disabled, do you have any restrictions set? This edit
also allows jpg's....
