HD 6850 garbled text.

I am running an HD 6850 and sometimes the text is messed up quite badly.

I am running win xp 64 on an asrock extreme3 board. 16gb ram unlocked x4 b55 15 percent OC.

I have got the setting let windows choose what is best for my computer.

is this a driver issue?

driver shows in device manager as version 8.782.0.0 with date 9/28/2010
lg 2361 23 inch lcd monitor.

Hi sir Scott,

In your problem, here's my step by step solution...

1.try to update and overwrite the previous versions of the software.
2.uninstall and re-install drivers
3. try to -reconfigure video settings and ATI Catalyst Control Center's Adaptive AA and Morphological AA settings are off.

4.If a possible fix requires the use of a registry cleaner / driver sweeper, apply the fix at your own risk (try CCLEANER software)

yes
I found an easy way to update the drivers that did not require all that registration BS stuff.

Its been less then a day but the problem it seems to have gone away.

driver date 7/7/2011
version 8.872.0.0

although the date is updated the version actually seems to be the same.
