Hello, I am planning on building a computer for music recording/editing, moderate gaming, browsing the web, and watching movies online. Here is what I have so far http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=16050151, can anyone look it over and see if everything is compatible please? I really am new to this, I have installed PC components, but never started from scratch. I already have mouse/keyboard/speakers and will get an OS so that isn't in what I have in my list. I want to make sure that mainly the PSU will give enough power and that the Graphics card will fit into the mid case.

Thanks!

The OCZ modstreams seem to have some issues. The thermaltake case might not be the best bet either. Everything seems fine at a first glance. I didn't really look to see if everything was compatible or not. The Antec 300 case is a decent no frills case.

You might try the Rosewell Capstone 650 psu.

Good luck with your build however I should warn you its addictive. I keep trying to get people to let me build computers for them so I don't have to spend my own money.

Hey man! The graphics card will definitely fit inside a mid sized case. As for power, you should be fine and should have many watts to spare haha. However, the RAM is not compatible on the motherboard that you mentioned. It is 1600 speed and the board only supports up to 1333. Upgrading your motherboard might cost more money, and you might consider a slower speed memory but fill all four DIMM slots. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231442 and http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233190 still might be a little expensive, but it will help the compatibility. Every thing else seems fine and you should be able to run BF3 at least medium settings well. I hope that I helped! Good luck!

if you have a microcenter near you, or a Frye's, you'll be able to pick most of that stuff up there cheaper. (ex: microcenter i5-2400 is $150)

The PSU is a little overpowered for what you have. a 450w will work great but thats a good price on a decent 500.

The case only comes with 1 fan and has 4 fan mounts. I would pick up at least 1 more 120mm fan for the front bottom mount. If you have the extra $ grab a 3rd for one of the rear top spots.

for $30 more I would add in a hyper 212+ cooler.
You'll need a cooler anyways as the i5 cooler is noisey when running at full speed which you'll see when gaming and the 212+ is about the cheapest good cooler there is.

edit - for games you won't really need more than 8gb of ram and 1600 will work just fine at 1333 speed.
