Hey everybody,

I posted yesterday asking about upgrading my 5770 to something beefier and have decided to up my budget and willing to spend up to the $250 area.

Originally I was thinking of going with the HD 6870 but am wondering if it's worth it to put in the extra money to go for a 6950 or 560 Ti.

I've already looked at some benchmarks and it seems like the two are pretty evenly matched so I was looking for people's opinions on which one to go for.

Thanks again!

1. is it worth upgrading to a 6950 over a 6870 ? depends on the games u play and res
2. Both the 69850 and 560Ti are rather similar in performance, 1-3% difference in performance?
3. for these cards, they're too on par to just decide between GPU, u need a comparison of card to card, where would u buy those cards? do u have a price list ?

I will be playing them mostly at 1920x1080

I'm looking to buy from Newegg again and here's what I've found:

This one looks good for the sake of being pretty inexpensive (down to about $200 after rebate)

This one is a little more pricey but might be worth it for the higher clock?

These last two are the 6950 ones. Personally I like sapphire so I'd be more likely to go with them on AMD.

Thoughts?

well, IMO the EVGA reference card is the best price/performance, but I wouldn't really buy it since it wouldnt be as good as the MSI's Twin Frozer solution which has the best coooling solutions among those cards u listed,
unless u like racing games, I dont think the Sapphire 6950 would be worth buying at this point.

Some of the reviews for the MSI shows that people have had problems with artifacting. Is this something I should be worried about?

Neither- GTX570 for $274.99 AMIR will give you the most flexibility and best performance for $25 more than your stated budget. When you can step up a level of card for half the price of a game, it's a good idea to do so.

Thanks for your input everybody! One of my buddies had bought two 570's for SLI but decided it wasn't worth it so I ended up getting it for $200!

Happy gaming!
