RAM Upgrade

Last response: in Motherboards

Sir,

I have a pc with following specification:

ASUS M5A97 Mb,
AMD Phenom II X4 970 CPU
Kingston 4 GB DDR3 /1333
ASUS 560 TI GPU
WD 500 GB HDD
CM 650 W PSU
LG DVD RW
Windows 7 Ultimate/64 Bit

Now I plan to change my RAM to 8 GB DDR3/1600 (4GBX2). But on AMD website, I notice that my present cpu support DDR3/1333. Is it any performance difference in DDR3/1333 and DDR3/1600? Please help.

your mother board cannot support a clock speed of more than 1333 mhz buying 1600 mhz RAM for your mobo would be a waste. to upgrade your ram speed you need to upgrade your MoBo.

I think you are wrong. My current mother board is ASUS M5A 97, in ASUS website it is clearly written that it has :" 4 x DIMM, Max. 32GB, DDR3 2133(O.C.)/1866/1600/1333/1066 MHz ECC, Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory, Dual Channel Memory Architecture"
