Can I replace a radial fan with a regular one on my 5870 cooler?

Hello! Is a radial fan really required to operate my 5870 cooler, or could I attach an adapter + 120mm fan to the intake after removing the radial fan entirely?

Is this too crazy?

Not crazy, but straight dangerous IMO. If you feel like modding it like that, spend a few more for an aftermarket HSF for it.

It's a blower type (I assume), so it needs a blower kind of fan. You'd have to mod the whole case of the card to fit a new fan without being dangerous for your card.
