Thermaltake or Apevia

Hello everyone. I got a apevia 680 watt power supply for Christmas and it blew awhile ago, luckily didn't bring any parts with it..

Anyway, in the mean time while waiting for the replacement I got a Thermaltake 500Watt

and the apevia replacement is coming back soon. Would just like to know which one you guys think I should use.

I don't have the money to get a Corsair or the like right now, and the thermaltake was on sale. I know that there are much better companies to buy from, and I will switch when I have the money for such. But right now, I just need to know which one is less likely to kill my system.

  2. Thanks! I figured that after hours of searches... Can find much less... horror... stories on thermaltake. Based off that review, the TR2 series are ok supplies, but don't have as much juice as they claim? Even at 450 watts, it should be OK with a 5670. and a quad core processor, right?
  3. Rolli is right in referring to the TT as the lesser of evils, the implication being that they are BOTH evil.
If you have a HD5670, you would be fine with a 380W Antec Earthwatts. In fact that PSU can handle a HD6770 or even a HD6850. For $45, that's a tough deal to beat.

Sorry bout that, seemed to be a typo. I have a 6870.

Anyway, I'm going to select the best answer now, thanks guys.
