Hey guys I know this is going to be kinda vague but I have no idea where to start. My 6 year old monitor is about to go so Im looking for a new monitor. I was going to go with an lcd but due to what i hear about ghosting they are not good gaming monitors. So the next thing is crt' I was going so spend about 500 on a 19' or 21' crt.I might be able to spend a little because I have some friends that sell tv's and might be able to get me a monitor at wholesale cost. The problem is i have no idea what too get, and have read some other posts about 2 gray bars on the screens. So basicly can any one give me some ideas on some good monitors or at least where to start, I have been looking at sites for the last week and have nothing.

Thanks for the help

Ive just bought a Hitach CM174B Which is a 17" TFT/LCD Monitor. It has a 16ms Response time which makes gaming a breeze..ie: no ghost streaking.
As long as you buy a LCD/TFT with 16ms response time (Or thereabouts) You cant go wrong.
The step up from my old 19" CRT is amazing.
No eyestrain and clear crisp text..and best of all u can pick this monitor up for well under 400 quid.

Now i know some ppl are not totally convinced by this monitor but check out toms review plus another review from http:// http://www.tech-pc.co.uk/hitachi_lcd-1.php

Trust me its a great monitor.

I bought a P95F+ for a friend, and it seemed pretty nice. It's 19" and costs $259 at http://www.newegg.com.

I've seen the P95F+ at stores, and it does have a good picture. It is almost as bright as a Trinitron or Diamondron, but much less expensive. It has a Bright Mode button you can use that is supposed to be for games.

Incidentally, I have a Sony Trinitron E400, which uses the Aperture Grille and has the infamous two grey lines. They don't bother me at all. Evidently, they bother some people to no end. I would highly recommend you check out a Diamondtron monitor in the store, and see for yourself if you think the lines are that bothersome. It's personal opinion. The picture sure is nice, though.

<-----Insert witty sig line here.

yeah, the lines r personal. I mean I b!tch about everything on a monitor (gotta look every pixel ya know, make sure it's good) but those lines I don't care about. I kinda like em.....I use em for measurement for comp graphics sometimes lol.
