Windows 8 doesn't sopport dvd playback out of the box?

what where they thinking. windows media player doesn't play dvd's
not only should they had dvd support they should of had bluray to out of the box.

They were thinking there's an app for that. Why build it and risk the issues they had building in e-mail functionality.

Nope it doesn't...another idiotic decision that makes me think that 8 will end up with the same awful reputation as Vista...

Oh and the reason was financial, nothing else... (MS make more money and you have to pay )

Well there are free alternatives like VLC media player and windows media classic but you have to get those after you install windows 8.
They work well I guess.
