CPU temps odd readings

Hi, I recently built my 2nd computer and everything is working fine. However in the bios my CPU temp is reading at 80-85c and on speedfan it says CPU is 0c and the Core0 is about 40-55 same with Core1. I plan on taking the cpu out and reapply thermal paste but was wondering what would cause this?


I'm using the Intel Core i3-2120 Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz.

Note : These temps are on idle.

what board are you using? i have an i3 2100
reads 25-35c with asus software but 70+ in the bios
