Having had my usb intellimouse for quite a while , I need to get into it to clean it out .

My question is how ?

Why would you have to clean it- unless the lens is dirty, but even do that on the outside.

its the old version , with a mouse ball , think something is clogging up the horizontal roller .

Dont you just pop off the cover where the ball is and pop it out?

done that , its the axles that the rollers turn on that are clogged ... so I need to open it up

The little wheel pops out, and you can use your fingers on the little black rollers

If the axle does not turn properly after cleaning the roller, to disassemble usually requires removing a label on the bottom. Rub your finger hard over the label, if you detect a hole under the sticker, that's where the screw is. This is generic information that applies to most mice and is not garrented to be the case on any specific mouse.
