Hello,Hi guys and gals. My Ationtec m1424wr (1424) doesn't have enough range. I want to piggyback a NetGear RangeMax WPN824 Wireless Router (824) to my 1424. I understand that I will need to turn off the 1424 wireless but not sure where to go from there, can you help?

leave the 1424 the way it is.

log into the Netgear and setup wireless security with a different SSID name.

disable DHCP

change the LAN IP so it will end in 253 to match the IP scheme of the 1424 (ex. if the 1424's IP is 192.168.1.1, change LAN IP to 192.168.1.253 on Netgear)

connect one of the four LAN ports (NOT the WAN/Internet port) via network cable to the 1424.

to find you 1424's IP you can check you computer IP configuration and look for the Gateway IP:

go Start then Run in XP - (Windows key plus R in Vista and Windows 7), then type in the following, including all the spaces:- cmd /k ipconfig /all -- then press Enter and from the black form that shows up, take a note of the numeric code beside the word "gateway" -- usually something like 192.168.1.1. Type exit to close the black form.
