Hi, I am cleaning a computer with an ASUS M3A78 Pro motherboard, and there is an orange heat sink with a black plaque with "ASUS". It has two black spring/screw looking things that appear to be holding it on. I think it may be over the video processing unit? (I don't know the name of it). I can't get the heat sink off. I push the springs down and it seems like it might be releasing, but I am not able to get it up or off. I am doing this because I want to apply new thermal paste, as the cpu's was dry. Any ideas? Thank you.

The CPU and chipset heatsinks are entirely different things. there's no reason to mess with it and you're much better off to leave it alone
