1090T BE sparatic issues

so heres the dish....i had this bad boy up to about 4ghz and pritty stable than i went to 4.1ghz and all went to hell so i have backtracked and reset all variable and now i run it at 18x multiplier with nothing else touched and ANY time i try to up anything now the FSB the multiplier memory clocks and or voltage it throws a pissy fit....boot fails and prime95 failures left and right....

im almost wondering if i damaged something when i had it up around 4.1ghz or if im just missing a variable here?

i tried looking all over the internet and nobody maps out a clear 1090T picture.

obviously i want to go up to 4.1 again and be stable so....any help would be great until than i will keep tweeking. and reading.

It is always a chance that you pushed it over the limit. Did you monitor temps?

yes it has a EVO on it so temps i doubt are the issue. idled at 4.0ish at 22 degrees C and full load on primetime was about 38-39 degrees C....

if it helps its running
8 gigs of kingston DDR3 1333
its a black edition cpu.
gigabyteUD5 FX890 chipset.
800 watt power supply.


but yeah i hope i did not mess it up in any case is there any threads on overclocking this bad boy that are detailed? i followed a few and even they caused it to boot fail.

i tried 20x multi.
210 FSB
and 1.475 cpu volts and it failed.

Does that mean you can not reach 4ghz either any more?

Or if you can just leave it at 4ghz, as at that speed its a very powerfull cpu, and the extra 100mhz wont give you any noticeable difference.

no primetime stability wont pass 18x multi so 3600mhz with every other value stock.

got any ideas?

You have the usual suspects disabled such as CE1 and AMD cool and quiet ?

If so you may well have nerfed it.

yes i believe so and what exactly happens as far as if i pushed it to hard what 'broke" per say? and hows it able to run at slower speeds with no issue?

quick question what is CE1
and memory should me 1333 correct? and using stock timings would not effect the cpu?

prime time seems to be stable so far at 19x multi for 3.8ghz

you must make sure that both ce1 and and cool and quiet are disabled in the bios and set you ram speed to whatever is closest to its default speed so 1333mhz or 1600mhz.

Both are disabled and bios supports 1333 and 1600 but auto default is 1333.
