Asus p8z77 v-lk usb issue

Hi i just built a new setup using the Asus P8Z77 v-lk board. Since i have not been able to get the intel usb 3.0 ports working, the others work fine. Ive tried various drivers and cannot find a solution

I forget the specific models, but on some these ports can be disabled in the BIOS, so it might be worth a look to see if this is the case for you.

interesting post over on AnandTech. May shed some light. Basically, it seems the P8Z77 board was fitted with an H67 chipset. So, the Device Manager reported "Intel 6 Series/C200 chipset family" instead of the Intel 7 Series/C216 chipset family. This is a rare event, but may not be isolated.

Check in your Device Manager under System Devices, USB, or IDE ATA sections to see if you have 7 series or 6 series controllers.

Interesting post you may want to have a look at regarding an Intel H67 chip being fitted to an ASUS P8Z77-V LX board. http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2293117

USB 3.0 ports not working kicked off the whole exploration/discovery.
