I have a low end mother board ASUS P5QPL-AM

I thought it has x16 2.0 but unfortunately it has PCIx16 1.1 slot. Now, i want to purchase a new graphic card, i'm planning to buy GTX 550TI which is less power consuming, fast and within my budget but problem is my motherboard doesn't have pcix16 2.0 slot. So, i would like to know how GTX 550ti will perform on my motherboard which has PCI-e x16 slot? How much memory bandwidth will it get from GTX 550 TI? Should i buy it or it will be wastage of money for me in this situation? Please help

PCIe 2.0 Doubled the Connection speed. So PCIe 1.0 x16 is the Same as PCIe 2.0 x8
In the case of SLI this is the common operation mode and the difference from ideal is less than 10 FPS.

GO for it.

Best solution

a c 141 U Graphics card
a b V Motherboard

A GTX 550Ti comes nowhere close to saturating the bandwidth of a PCI-E 1.x slot. You won't lose any performance at all with that card.
