Would my old Asus mobo support 8600 GT GPU

Hello,
I own a 2006 built PC, running fine on WinXP.
Spec is,
Socket 754 Asus K8vmx mobo
AMD Sempron 2600 1.4 GHZ
1 GB DDR Memory
Realtek LAN Card (my onborad VIA LAN went down last year)

My scenario is that i need to add an NVIDIA 8600GT GPU to this build.
Is it possible to add the 8600 GT to the mobo seamlessly.

Nope. That motherboard only has an AGP slot (you would need a PCIe slot for the 8600GT).

Thanks mate for the quick reply.

I suspected it wouldn't, but needed to be clear.Now i know that 8600 needs a PCI-e slot.

Does a mobo with AGP slot allow me to add a PCI GPU onto it ?

Yeah, you can put a PCI GPU in one of the PCI slots, but I would just get an AGP GPU instead. I have an old AGP 6600GT still slaving away in an old system, myself, actually.
