Hey guys building a new rig mainly for gaming with a budget of around ~$2000. I've got a mock up below, any suggestions would be great. Thanks!

P.S. Aiming to run Battlefield 3 flawlessly in 1920x1080 on ultra.

PSU Thermaltake ToughPower XT 875W
CPU Core i7-2600k
Mobo Asus Sabertooth-P67 v3
VGA GTX 590
RAM Gskill 12G 1600 Ripjaws Sniper
Boot HDD OCZ 2.5" 60 Agility 3
Case Corsair Graphite 600T

Any recommendations?

that should do just about everything you want to do. Some cost saving options:

a 2500K will be just as good as the 2600K (1-2 fps difference, for $100 less).

I'd suggest the ASRock Z68 Extreme 3 or Extreme 4 motherboard,

A pair of 570s will give 90-95% of the performance of a 590, for less money (about $120 less), and still run BF3 at max on 3 screens!

don't forget a regular hard drive of 1 tb - 2 tb size and a dvd burner!.

try to get a 120/128GB SATA 3 SSD, which wil hold more games

Great suggestions, I'm open to SLI 570's. Will the power supply I've got listed suffice for SLI 570's? Would temperatures become an issue with two?

I feel compelled to get the "best" cpu as I’m spending so much, is the difference really that small?

For gaming the 2500k is practically the same as the 2600k at this juncture. I believe in some tests the 2500k even edged the 2600k in fps. Either way though the advantage by either was minimal. I myself had the same decision to make earlier this year & I wanted what was considered the "best gaming cpu for the money" at that time (& still now I believe), so I went with the 2600k. I'm hoping that in the near future games will start to benefit from Hyperthreading too, but who knows. Either cpu will do VERY well for you.

Edit: Also, you could save a few bucks by just going with less ram. I don't think you'll need 12gb, but maybe you could ask some of the more knowledgeable members.

Just wanted to post an update after some suggestions:

PSU Thermaltake ToughPower XT 875W
CPU Core i5-2500k
Mobo Asus Sabertooth-P67 v3
VGA EVGA 1280MB GTX570 x 2
RAM Gskill 12G 1600 Ripjaws Sniper
Boot HDD OCZ 2.5" 60 Agility 3
Case Corsair Graphite 600T

I'm still looking at a new SSD, my main concern is the heat that two 570's might generate in my case. Will that power supply be enough for that? Also, the motherboard a good choice, or any other suggestions?

i agree that you be better going for gtx 570 sli as gtx 590 is a underclocked 2x gtx 580... and the XFX PRO850W XXX Edition psu is a very good psu indeed... i don't see you really need that 12gb for gaming... 8gb is hardly utilised... let alone 12gb...

Want to thank everyone again for the help, this is what I've currently got and will probably be purchasing on the weekend, unfortunately phenom90 that motherboard isn't available from where I'm going.

One final question, I've been reading heat issues in regards to SLI, esp with spacing between the cards. Anyone have any experience with the sabertooth having the SLI config running to hot? Should I be looking at a board with further distance between the cards?
