I had an issue wherein I couldn't access my local files. Received message that they were corrupt. System restore did not help. I downloaded TuneUp Utilities which fixed that problem but now am getting message that CD/DVD-Rom drives cannot be activated because drivers are corrupt (Error 39).

I tried updating and troubleshooting but was informed that my drivers were working properly.

I don't know what else to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

try uninstalling the dvd driver, then run ccleaners reg cleaner and reboot the system..
on reboot the driver should be reinstalled automatically... if it fails again you may have a hardware problem with the drive... error 39 basically means the system doesnt recognize the hardware, either because its damaged or the driver is corrupt.
