I'm having issues with keyboard just dropping out when plugged into a usb 3.0 port on the mobo. Also my gaming mouse (Fierce) has DPI sensitivity that can be changed by a button on the mouse, the setting is now all of a sudden always automatically reverting back to the lowest default sensitivity on its own. I have tried all 4 usb 3.0 ports and different drivers. This does not happen at all in a usb 2.0 port.
mobo- Asus P8Z77-V
OS-Windows 7 Ult SP1 x64

Thanks guys.

Then don't use the USB 3.0 ports, and certainly don't use a third-party USB 2.0/3.0 ports for any Keyboard or Mouse. I find there's absolutely no reason to use USB 3.0 for input devices especially those that are USB 2.0 in USB 3.0 ports.

In particular, for Keyboard, Mouse or Booting devices you must use native USB ports otherwise the Keyboard or Mouse will not access (function) in the BIOS/UEFI or Booting devices cannot 'boot' an OS/Applications (e.g. Memtest).

For Keyboard, Mouse or Booting devices:

Don't use:
ASMedia® USB 3.0 controller : *7
2 x USB 3.0 port(s) (2 at back panel, blue)

Okay to use ; best for USB 3.0 drives ; some USB 2.0 devices might not work properly and/or require a firmware update and/or BIOS settings modifications (Legacy, xHCI or EHCI) especially if Turbo or UASP is used in OS/Applications:
Intel® Z77 chipset : *7
4 x USB 3.0 port(s) (2 at back panel, blue, 2 at mid-board)

Recommended to use ; for any Keyboard, Mouse or any USB 2.0 device:
Intel® Z77 chipset :
10 x USB 2.0 port(s) (2 at back panel, black, 8 at mid-board)

*7-1: Supports ASUS USB 3.0 Boost UASP Mode.
*7-2: The USB 3.0 ports only support Windows® 7 or later version
