I have an Antec P180 case, it has a couple of 120mm Antec 3 speed fans which are powered by molex connectors and have a separate wire to a speed switch on the back of the case. I'd like to covert them to pwm connectors so that the motherboard could control the speed. can I just cut the wires and wire them into a pwm connector?

Thanks,
DrD

Most likely you won't be able to convert those fans to PWM control. PWM fans have four wires anyway, normal fans (non-PWM) have three wires and use voltage control (the third wire reports the speed of the fan to the motherboard).

No that will not work you would need to buy 120mm fans with PWM support.
