The Asus sound bad even to my non-audiophile ears.
I havent seen those creatives before but I distrust creative to begin with so I dont beleive those 2 reviews newegg has on them; it could be creative employees...

so no to asus, and creative sucks?

Yeah, a gaming headset ;)  :p 
Instead of buying a card just get a headset for gaming, they come with their own sound cards.

If you google Razer Megalodon, the blue block with the i-pod-style volume control on, that block is the sound card.

Unless your wanting a surround sound speaker set to watch films and game that way then go for a sound card :p  No idea which though, i use the headset you're just about to google ;)

my mobo has x-fi 2 onboard sound,
will i still need i sound card if i went with roccat kave?

On board audio is more than acceptable on almost all motherboards these days.

Sounds cards, unless doing something like music production, tend to just be over-rated and unnecessary in my opinion.
