Best ram for i5-3570k?

Hey, I'm getting a i5-3570k and a ASRock Z77 Performance Motherboard and planning on doing so Hardcore Gaming.

I can't decide on what Ram to get but I would need about 16gb.

Also, I'm going to overclock my i5-3570k so I'm getting a CM Hyper 212 Evo.

What would be good ram to fit my needs and the Motherboard?

Gigabyte 7870 or Gigabyte 7950

ASRock Z77 Performance

Cooler Master HAF 912

Cooler Master 700w power supply

1tb Hard Drive

Just an ordinary disk drive

1) If you're just doing gaming, why do you need 16GB of RAM?

2) If you haven't purchased that power supply yet, please don't. Cooler Master is not known for offering good power supplies (although there are a few decent ones). A high-quality 550W is good enough for all that hardware, and a good 650W is good enough to support 7950 CrossfireX.

3) To answer your question, ideally you'd like 1.5V DDR3-1600 memory with CAS latency 9 or lower. You won't see much benefit past that. Also make sure that you pick a kit that has low-profile heat spreaders, so they don't interfere with the Hyper 212.

I read a bit about the CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB set and found out they are designed for 2nd gen Intel processors. Will this affect the speed or performance at all?

No, they'll work fine with any DDR3-compatible processor. It'll perform roughly the same as the kit JackNaylor linked.
