Serial port dead? Tags: Chipsets Latitude Dell Motherboards bitkiller November 13, 2012 6:20:45 PM Hello, I have a Dell Latitude D830. It has a physical serial port and it's working strangely. If I try to transmit, it doesn't unless RTS and DTR are cleared. These pin should in fact be set when transmiting. The inverse happens when receiving. It seems that the chipset, or whoever controls the serial port, has gone crazy and is inverting things. I would like to know whether there's anything I can do or not. Thanks.
