SLI on AMD Board - Universal?

Hello,

I have a question in terms of using SLI on an AM3(+) board. I read via Overclock that basically any board, as long as it has 2 PCIex16 slots is capable of running SLI regardless if it says SLI ready or not. The link the thread is; Here.

I don't have a lot of experience or familiarity with that forum. Is this something that is actually possible?

Thanks.

The board has to be SLI certified before it will do SLI. The driver looks for a SLI licence
key in the BIOS before it will activate SLI.

Only AM3+ and older AM3 boards with Nvidia chipsets can run SLi other boards that have the correct slots can only run SLi with a hacked bios.
